Dr. W.J. Creel Elementary School Reviews

My daughter is an out-of-district student at Creel. I chose Creel because I was impressed with it when my two college-age children attended. The teachers are wonderful: they work with the kids as a class,in small groups or individually. Creel teachers asses the child's academic needs and place each child accordingly - even if that means going to a higher grade class for reading or math. Our daughter has a slight LD - the teachers and administration helped us to asses the problem, and offer her help according to her learning style. Additionally, I have been very pleased with the music and art department - great teachers! The PE program has improved in the past 8 years. I also believe the recess policy has improved. I understand that recess or PE occurs daily. If the older classes still do it, they take periodic 'speed ball' breaks which helps concentration. A++

I have two boys that have attended Creel. I have and am very pleased with this school the teachers and the staff. I have been a volunteer w/i the classroom and participated in the PTA and an officer. The school offers so many programs to supportt every type of situation and child with learning. If you are looking for a A++ school Creel is it.T Keels

So far so good. Im a new resident to fl. My kids seem to be doing well. Much different here than in n.Y.

Dr.W.J.Creel is an Excellent school. My 1st impression of this school when I started looking into schools in my area was a good one. When I called on them to see if they would accept an Out of Area application they were very welcoming. 1st impression will either make or break it. Dr.W.J. Creel made it! The front office staff is warm and welcoming. The teacher staff so far has been a joy to be teaching my child. My child will be going into 2nd grade in 2004-2005 and I am looking forward to another wonderful year!

Overall, I have not been pleased with the communication process this year, 2004. The lunch monitors are too strict on these children. If one person gets in trouble then that one person needs to be addressed and not the whole class. The whole class should not have to lose recess over one child doing wrong. As a witness, I feel this is wrong. Kids need recess, even if it's only 5 minutes. I'm sure we remember being a kid once. There have been articles to prove that recess is really important, especially among males. My number one concern are the children and so should everyone else's.

In addition to approximately 1,000 basic students, Dr. W. J. Creel serves more than 100 physically handicapped and youngsters. These youngsters have serious health issues and are absent more frequently than the general population. So the stats are not accurate for this school.

I have 3 children attending. The teachers go out of their way to make the children comfortable. They have awesome programs for all levels of learning. My thanks go out to all the teachers for their hard work an I highly recommend creel to all parents. The open classrooms is the smartest thing they ever did!

We have 2 children in Dr. W.J Creel. One in K and one in fifth grade. The K-1 program of 2 teaching levels is a wonderful experience for the children because not only is the child recieving kindergarten teaching but also is recieving a 1st grade level of teaching. The fifth grade teachers work as a team and not just indiviual teacher if a student has a problem all the teachers address the problem.

When we toured the school after moving to Melbourne, I was convinced that the 'open' concept wouldn't work for either of my children. I talked with the assistant principal about my concerns, and she convinced me to give it a try. I am so glad I listened to her! Creel is an excellent school -- the teachers and administration all go way beyond the call of duty, are very caring, and are always there to help. The calibre of teachers is excellent, and the learning style is far superior to conventional schools, as the students are taught on an individual level, each being allowed to learn at his/her own pace. I would highly recommend Creel to anyone!!
