Saturn Elementary School Reviews

my son loves his school hes in 3rd grade both my older children went here too and now my grandchild is in 1st grade here

My daughter started PrK this year and she loves it. Her teachers, Ms. Buckley and Mrs. Perez, are wonderful and very interactive with all of there students. They are very perdonable with both there students and parents. It's a wonderful school, i would not send my children to any other school.

I brought my son to Saturn after meeting Mrs. Clayton who was at that time a 5th grade teacher. She challenged him, and his classmates to be the best students and citzens that they could. She taught the class that they were like a family and they needed to help eachother. His grades and his conduct soared. Other teachers like Mrs. Phelps helped him feel confident while building his writting skills also Mrs. Meyers by incouraging him to do his personal best in the computer lab. I totally disagree with the parent who did not like the teachers and I believe that perhaps she did not spend enough time at the School to see the awsome job the teachers are doing.

I am very discouraged with the majority of staff at this school. The teachers are so focused on the F-CATS that they loose sight of the fact that our children are caring impressionable individuals. The scores for the school seem to be more important than the human bond and have totally destroyed my children's' enthusiasm for learning and excitement for growing in new directions. Security is minimal. You can walk into the school at any time with no regard. Lockdowns occur with no notice to the parents. The local news was my source for the last four occurrences. You may read good reviews but remember that high scores and being an A school comes at a cost to our children. Respect, positive reinforcement and praise seem to be nonexistent. My children will not return to be humiliated and made to feel degraded by this school.

My daughter previously attended Cambridge, which is our area school. I switched to Saturn because the FCAT scores were high and academically students were challenged more and were better educated. I like the overall school as it is all indoors, with really no outside hallways except to get to P.E. or recess or the rooms on the outer walls of the school. But my child is their to learn and she is doing great. Kindergarten and she can read and write. Truly amazed.

My 3 sons started at Saturn after we moved here from NC. Could get no help when they were bullied. Principal Miller won't answer phone calls. Office staff have bad attitudes. When one of my boys retaliated after being bullied, he was sent home, but the other child wasn't! Academically, they are being held back, due to the insistance of keeping all the children on the same level (for the FCAT?). After taking the FCAT, the teachers seem to stop teaching. Reading Counts goals are low. They seem to teach the children to aspire to mediocrity; there is no inspiration to go farther and do more. If I were the one grading schools, it wouldn't be an 'A' school. FCAT scores are NOT all that matter. What about teaching something that ISN'T on the FCAT, so that we don't churn out kids who only know the testing material and nothing else?

My son is in the pre-k program at Saturn. He loves the class and the teachers. They also have parent meetings that are not just for talking about your child and their behavior but also to help you see what stages your child is going through and how to handle it. When it is your first child going to school it does make you at ease!

Saturn is a great school. I attended it as a child and now my daughter has that privledge. The quality of academic programs are excellent. If a child needs extra help, they go the extra mile to accommadate. Overall, Saturn is an outstanding school. It is very hard to see my child leave for middle school.

Great quality of academic programs, teachers seem a little confused and overworked so many kids in the fourth grade class.
